Fun-Filled Learning in my living room
Where little minds and hearts grow brighter

About
At Bright Hearts Learning Home, my mission is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters development, creativity, and emotional growth for children. I believe in creating a space that encourages exploration and learning through play and song, ensuring that each child feels valued and loved.

My name is Ally Lovelight. I am excited to open my home to you. I am a fun, curious and creative mother of 3 children. My youngest was born in 2023, and she is the reason that I have opened my home to care for your children. I have been a teacher with Lakehead Public Schools since 2004 in many roles, such as French Immersion classroom teacher, Music teacher, Science teacher and most recently Kindergarten classroom teacher. I have a B.A. Honours in Linguistics with Psychology and German from Queen's University (2003) and B.Ed. from Lakehead University (2004). I have been a member of the OCT in Good Standing since 2004. While I have enjoyed my years as a teacher, my most favourite role in my life is that of mother, and I look forward to being present for my daughter while caring for your children. I will offer your children the greatest level of care and support that I am capable of giving. I have travelled extensively all over the world and learned that my favourite place is with my family.

Hours and schedule
Full time only
I am open Monday to Friday, starting January 5, 2026, from 8 am to 4 pm for a daily rate of $100. Extended hours must be pre-negotiated and will involve a rate difference. Late pick up will cost $5 for every 15 minutes.
Snacks and lunch will be provided. I will offer freshly prepared, nutritious, dairy-free, whole foods with limited refined sugars.
This is NOT a nut-free nor a gluten-free home.

Arts
Through music and creative movement, we will be using our bodies to help regulate our emotions and develop our fine and gross motor strengths. I use songs and movement to help keep the day flowing. We will also have many different ways that we engage in crafts.
Outdoor play
We will be outside as much as weather permits. My house has a fenced backyard that opens onto the Roots to Harvest fields and the Victoria Park playground. Across the street, we can visit the Friendship Gardens and see the ducklings in the spring. I believe that spending time in the fresh air is an important part of our child development.

Language
Using songs, books, rhymes and games, I will foster language development and literacy skills. As a professional educator for so many years, I know the importance of early learning and language development. I am also fluent in French and German so we will have fun with that!
